The thesis is devoted to the study of the legal dimension of adaptation of the civil service of Ukraine to the requirements of the European Union. In this paper, the adaptation of the civil service to the EU requirements is presented as a process of bringing the regulatory legal acts of Ukraine in line with the "acquis communautaire" in the field of public service by joining the legal agreements of the EU and the adoption of national legal acts corresponding to the EU law. Public service is represented as an element of the organization of society in the state and at the same time social, legal, ethical and organizational system, link uniting the state and society, profession, activity within a clearly defined competence, the system of rules of work with respect to the performance of functions of the state personnel who are able to perform these functions. In the context of the rapprochement of the state service of Ukraine with the EU structures, providing the state service of Ukraine with the functions of ensuring public needs, compliance with constitutional rights and freedoms, the legitimate interests of the subjects of public relations of civil society is recognized as an urgent problem. The introduction of the Institute of administrative services, which directly affects the content of the rights and duties of civil servants, is defined as a new direction of development of the civil service in Ukraine. Set out the institutional framework for ensuring adaptation of civil service of Ukraine to the EU requirements. The assessment of the state of adaptation of the civil service to the EU requirements, identified directions and criteria for the development of the institutional structure of Ukraine in terms of European integration in its legal dimension. Directions of institutional structure of public service in Ukraine in the conditions of its adaptation to the EU standards are offered.
