The object of research: the process of professional training of future designers in higher educational institution. The aim of research: scientific substantiation of the complex of organizational and pedagogical conditions that ensure the successful formation of metacognitive skills among future designers in the process of professional training. The subject of research: organizational and pedagogical conditions for the formation of metacognitive skills among future designers in the process of professional training. The results of research and novelty: these skills are determined and grounded. The complex of organizational and pedagogical conditions for the formation of metacognitive skills of future designers in the process of professional training is also developed and tested. It includes an orientation of the content of the training of future designers to the formation of their metacognitive awareness, implementation of methods of metacognitive training, creation of a metacognitive educational environment in a higher educational institution. The defined organizational and pedagogical conditions are implemented in the process of professional training of future designers by including the meta-objective themes into the content of general scientific disciplines, modular special course «Formation of metacognitive skills in future designers» and tutoring systems. The sphere of usage: introduced in the educational training process of educational institutions.
