Essay

The thesis is devoted to theoretical substantiation, development of the problem of forming self-educational competence of future National Police officers during their professional training. It’s for the first time that the essence of self-educational competence is theoretically grounded and revealed. It is interpreted as an important integrative professional quality that covers emotion and value attitude to self-education and self-educational activities, system of knowledge of how to plan its development, ways and means, personal experience of solving the problems of personal and professional development effectively, readiness for continuous self-development and self-improvement in the profession. The criteria and indicators for diagnosing self-education competence have been defined. The level and state of its development among future National Police officers have been described. Pedagogical conditions and a model of forming self-educational competence during the professional training of future National Police officers have been theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested.
