The object of the research: the process of formation and activities of the Ukrainian national foreign policy department in the conditions of the Ukrainian revolution in 1918-1921.. The purpose of the research: a comprehensive study of the life and activities of the Ukrainian diplomatic representatives of the period of the Ukrainian Revolution. The methods: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, structural-system, problem-chronological, comparative, method of abstraction; historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological, biographical, prosopografical methods. Scientific novelty: for the first time a comprehensive study of the daily life of representatives of Ukrainian diplomatic missions during the period of the Ukrainian Revolution was conducted; systematized information about the personal composition of Ukrainian diplomatic missions; the distribution by age of Ukrainian diplomats is analyzed; on the basis of the author's database the qualifications of Ukrainian diplomats, the educational and professional level of their training were investigated; conflicts in the diplomatic missions were investigated and classified; study of the working day of diplomatic representatives, first of all, the head of mission; clearly shows the duties of the staff of the diplomatic mission; considered the leisure of Ukrainian diplomats. Practical value of research: the dissertation materials can be used in the preparation of works on the history of international relations, lectures and special courses on the history of foreign policy of Ukraine and Ukrainian diplomacy. Sphere of use: higher educational institutions.
