Essay

The research is devoted to the contribution of Honorary citizens to the social-economic, social-political, and cultural development of the cities of the South of Ukraine, taking into account the events of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of a significant range of archival sources, the main mechanisms for the formation and implementation of the key principles of the state policy of the Russian Empire regarding the groups and personalities that were declared in the thesis, were determined.
