The theoretical principles of preparation of future teachers of philological specialties for scientific and research activities are investigated. The nature, structural components, criteria and levels of the formation of readiness of future teachers of philological specialties for scientific and research activities are substantiated. Theoretical foundations of the concept of pedagogical influence on the process of preparing future teachers of philological specialties for scientific and research activities are determined. The structural and functional model of preparing future teachers of philological specialties for research activities based on person-centered, competence, qualimetric, synergetic, cultural, reflexive, systemic and humanistic-existential approaches, and composed of organizational-target, content-procedural, diagnostic and effective blocks is theoretically substantiated, developed and experimentally verified. The program and methodological support of special course of study „Technology of scientific research in the professional activity of a teacher-philologist”, as well as the set of scientific and methodical materials addressed to the teachers of higher educational institutions and related to the formation of readiness of future teachers of philological specialties for research activities are developed.
