Object - representation of national identity in the conditions of multiculturalism; the goal is to defining the peculiarities and main tendencies of national identity self-affirmation in supranational educational spaces; methods - axiological, system analysis; novelty - the transversal language representations of national identity in the global and local spaces of modern education are conceptualized; results - the educational model oriented on identity formation of an individual based on optimization of his consumer needs (as exemplified in the Buddhist economy society) in contrast to the educational model oriented on the artificial maximization of consumer needs of an individual (peculiar for Western societies), is analyzed. It is determined that the preservation and assertion of the national identity in the global educational space through its linguistic representations can be performed both through the language closure model (encapsulation) and transversal communicative transitions in the globalized educational spaces with an expanded network of inter-cultural educational communications; the materials of the research can be used to form the content of educational disciplines, such as "Social Philosophy", "Philosophy of Education", "Educational Policy", "Pedagogy of Higher School", "Comparative Pedagogy", "Foreign Educational Systems"; subject - the philosophy of education.
