Essay

The study was carried out on 116 mature outbred white male rats with body weigth 100-130 g, aged 2.5 – 3.0 months. A complex of morphological methods of research was used in this scientific work. The dissertation presents a theoretical generalization and a new solution resolving the scientific task to establish peculiarities of the structure and blood supply of the submandibular gland of the rat. For the first time peculiarities of angioarchitecture of the submandibular gland of the white male rats in health and regularities of its restructuring in case of streptozotocin-induced diabetes in the progress of eight week long experiment have been established. The obtained experimental data enrich considerably the perceptions of restructuring of the organs and tissues under the conditions of hyperglycemia and serve as the morphological basis for further studies aiming at improvement of treatment and prevention of diabetes mellitus.
