Thesis reveals the complexity, nonlinearity, integrity and humanity of the student's socialization, which is carried out on the basis of adaptation and disadaptation processes to various environments (educational, social, socio-cultural, networking, etc.). The problem of dialectics between internal and external factors of student’s socialization in the process of their adaptation and disadaptation is researched. The concept of «social adaptation» on the basis of dialectical, synergetic, systemic, holistic and network approaches was determined. In order to achieve the goal of the study, various adaptation and disadaptation environments for students were considered. Adaptation process takes place during the period of study at higher education institutions, but at each stage this process has its own specific features. The concept of the main stages of student’s socialization of students, the peculiarity of which is determined by the dominance of adaptation to a certain environment and strategies of behavior, is developed.
