Lugovik T. Euhenia Spasska’s (1892 – 1980) work in the field of science and memorial activity.

The thesis focuses on analysis of biography, scientific, memorial activity and museum work of prominent ethnologist, ethnographer and historian E. Spasska. It is based on complex analysis of documentary, material and visual sourses some of which are newly inplimented in current scientific research. The periods of biography and main events of her life have been described. The important factors of ideological fundations and civil position are distinguished. The areas of E. Spasska’s scientific works as well as her contribution in the national historiography, art studies, ethnography and ethnography are pointed. The activity of the scientist in the creation and functioning of museum institutions is highlighted, her contribution to the memorial activity is described. The role and place of the achievements of E.Spasska in the context of general development of humanitarian knowledge of the XX century is analyzed. The life-journey of E. Spasska serves as the example of scientific intelligenсу’s role in the Ukrainian national-cultural movement of the first half of the twentieth century.
