The thesis is devoted to the problem of development of personal potential of adolescents in public Scout associations. The essence of the concepts of «personal capacity adolescents», «development teenager’s personal potential», «development of personal potential of teenagers in scout associations» is presented in research.
The personal potential is defined in the work as a set of physical, intellectual, volitional, social, emotional, spiritual opportunities that are revealed under the influence of external and internal factors and purposeful influences through the processes of self-awareness, self-knowledge and self-determination.
The analysis of the concepts «Scout system», «Scout unions», «Scout method», «components of personal potential» is done; social and pedagogical dimensions of activity of Scout public associations and their role in the development of the personal potential of teenagers are analysed.
It is determined that the development of the personal potential of adolescents is the process of interaction of external and internal factors that activate the processes of self-development of the adolescent on the principles of synergetic and affect the interrelated and interdependent disclosure of volitional, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical components of personal potential.
The analysis of socio-pedagogical research on the role of children’s and youth associations in social education of the individual became the basis for the definition of the concept of the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations, which is considered as purposeful, systematically organized activity in the Scout social and educational environment. It activates the process of self-development and affects the disclosure of volitional, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, physical components of personal potential of adolescents on the principles of synergetic.
On the basis of theoretical analysis of the scouting phenomenon the criteria and indicators of the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations that meet the components of personal potential are defined. They are: wilful (ability to self-fulfilment, ability to set goals and achieve them, choosing the best means), spiritual (the ability to develop their own spiritual nature), emotional (the ability to express their feelings congruently, understand the feelings of others), intellectual (the ability to develop their own intelligence and be able to use it), social (the ability to adapt to social conditions optimally, the aspiration to raise the level of communicative competence and sense of belonging to all of mankind constantly), physical (the ability to develop physical part of health).
The relevance and efficiency of the introduction of the social and pedagogical conditions for the development of the personal potential of adolescents into the activity of scout public associations is characterized: taking into account the standards of the World Scout Movement Organization for the development and implementation of a program for the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations (development of the educational program for the development of the personal potential of adolescents of the NSAU, which contains educational proposal, educational goals, age sections, progressive plan for the development of personal potential, forms of activities for the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations); coordination of adult leaders in the process of developing components of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout NGOS (development of a program for the training of adult leaders, methodological recommendations for adult leaders on the coordination of the development of the personal potential of adolescents); monitoring and evaluation of the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations (development of mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation of the development of personal potential of adolescents).
The content-methodical basis of the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations has been formulated. It consists of educational program for the development of the personal potential of adolescents; program of training of leaders of Scout public associations; methodical recommendations for adult leaders on the coordination of the development of the personal potential of adolescents; forms of activity on the development of the personal potential of adolescents in Scout public associations; forms of monitoring and evaluation of the development of the personal potential of adolescents; forms of fixing the results of monitoring and assessment of personal potential.
