This dissertation aspires to offer a comprehensive exploration of Osyp Nazaruk’s opinion writings dating to the interwar period (1919–1939) for the first time ever. The author seeks to provide insights into peculiarities of the ideological and conceptual foundations and semantic dominants of Osyp Nazaruk’s opinion journalism and its functioning in the communicative discourse of the epoch. The ideological paradigms of author’s journalistic thinking is described. His views on the problems of nation-building and state-building processes, on the mission of the press, are expounded. The problem-thematic framework of the Osyp Nazaruk’s opinion journalism are analysed. The author proceeds to outline the stylistic features of Osyp Nazaruk’s opinion writings, as well as to substantiate their relevant ideological potential.
