The dissertation is devoted to the complex analysis of the press of the Donetsk region during the period of independence of Ukraine (1991–2012). The imitation of global and national tendencies in the development of printed editions of the studied territory is organically combined with purely regional factors, which become crucial in the process of forming a segment of printed periodicals in the information space of the region. Development of print media in the period of 1991–2012. Takes place in accordance with the specifics of the study area, reflecting the state, transformational changes and trends in the development of the social life of the region. The emergence and development of individual groups of editions is conditioned by increased interest in certain spheres of public life, outlining the topical problems of our time. The formation of the segment of periodicals is in accordance with the development trends of multi-vector social life in the region under study and is in line with current public demands.
