Object of study: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); the aim – to study the frequency of somatopsychic phenotype in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, to improve diagnosis and treatment; methods of investigation: clinical (objective examination of patients, anamnesis, general blood and urine tests, biochemical blood tests, blood coagulation test) and instrumental (X-ray, spirometry examination) methods for the examination of COPD patients; questionnaire methods of psychological testing; estimation of quality of life parameters in Ukrainian version of the international questionnaire MOS SF-36, statistical methods of analysis; the novelty: for the first time, it was proposed to provide a somatopsychic phenotype of COPD in the presence of combination of syndromes of neuroticism, state and trait anxiety and depressive states, which was diagnosed in 22.2% of patients; We established that the clinical course of COPD in patients with somatopsychic phenotype of the disease was characterized by polysymptomacity manifested by statistically significantly higher mMRC and CAT average scores, greater annual frequency of exacerbations; the scientific data on the COPD patients` quality of life and their features in patients with somatopsychic phenotype of the disease, which was characterized by a decrease in all components of quality of life, was supplemented; It has been scientifically proven that the use of the developed treatment regimen with the inclusion of the drug of psychotropic action phenybutum leads to a significant decrease in the severity of clinical symptoms of COPD, stabilization of the psycho-emotional state, and to increase of patients` quality of life.
