The dissertation is devoted to the history of formation of Ukrainian television in the period 1939-1969 through the prism of the emergence of television professions and genres on Ukrainian television. The scientific novelty of the work consists in a comprehensive study of the history of formation of Ukrainian television during the period 1939-1969 through the prism of the development of television professions and genres of screen art, which introduced the foundations for the shaping of television as a new type of media: - the thesis outlined the specifics of coverage of the first television programs of 1939 in press materials: a) the first broadcast was insufficiently covered in the press, and published materials were devoid of sensational elements; b) it was proved that broadcasting was regular before the war of 1941-1945
