Essay

The object of the research: German ethnic group on the territory of Ukraine. The purpose of the research: to investigate the relations between the German colonists and the Ukrainian population. The methods: search-bibliographic, personalistic-biographical, generalization, search, typologization, statistical-quantitative, logical, historical, methods of deduction and induction, structural-genetic; historical-chronological, synchronous, historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological. Scientific novelty: the research out at the micro level using elements of the history of everyday life was carried; it was proved, that the scale of the colonists' relations with the Ukrainian population was greater, than it was accepted to speak about it in historical science; the relations between German and Ukrainian ethnic groups in different spheres are researched; the main reasons, that formed the ethnostereotypes, offered to the population of the Russian Empire in relation to the Germans, were determined, and the evolution of views in relation to the German experience was illuminated; traced the main stages of the emergence and development of relations between colonists and Ukrainian ethnic group. Practical value of research: the materials of the dissertation can be used by historians, ethnographers and scholars to study the multi-ethnic space of the South of Ukraine in the late ХІХ and early ХХ centuries. Sphere of use: higher educational institutions.
