The dissertation considers the improvement of the technology of ship launching from longitudinal sloping slipways by renovating the slipway surface and using airbags instead of conventional launching gear. An effective way of renovating a longitudinal sloping slipway by creating a flat surface has been developed. The flat surface is created through using metal or reinforced concrete spacers, which fill the space between the launching tracks. There has been conducted a study on the selection of design of the spacers. The process of ship launching on airbags has been studied using the English launching curve; a mathematical model of the process of launching has been developed in the quasistatic approximation. There have been performed calculations of launching on airbags with different characteristics of ships at two shipyards. Besides, a study has been carried out based on the obtained mathematical model in order to optimize the selection of airbags. There has been performed a comparative technical and economic analysis on the renovation of slipways and ship launching with conventional gear and on airbags. An enterprise standard for ship launching on airbags has been developed.
