Yastreba O. Determination of optimal principal particulars of escort tugs

The purpose of the dissertation research is to develop a method for selecting the optimal principal particulars of escort tugs at the stage of conceptual design, which provides the highest level of functional and economic efficiency of this type tugs. A model of engineering and navigation qualities of an escort tug has been developed, in which a method of determining the hydrodynamic forces acting on the tug hull is developed on the basis of data of towing tests of such tugs in the towing tank of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding. The problems of functioning of a multi-purpose escort tug are formulated, in which the main functional operation is the service by the certain tug the certain range of tonnage of a set of ships of different types arriving in a seaport. The method of solving the main problem of functioning is given. A complex criterion of economic efficiency and reliability of the main functional operations of the tug was chosen, which includes the requirements of classification societies to ensure the safety of escort operations. The method of conceptual design of the escort tug is developed on the basis of inclusion in the optimization problem of a choice of its principal particulars and characteristics of the created models of engineering and navigation qualities, problems of functioning and complex criterion of efficiency and reliability.
