The thesis is devoted to the problem of education of gifted students of pedagogical universities in the process of musical and academic creativity. It is proved that the investigated problem is actual and insufficiently studied. The content of the basic concepts of research is revealed: "abilities", "giftedness", "musical talent", "gifted student", "creativity", "musical creativity", "musical and academic creativity" and "education of gifted students in the process of musical and academic creativity ". Musical and academic creativity is a specially organized purposeful activity of the person in the field of musical art that is connected with the educational process, aimed at the development of musical abilities and the formation of personal qualities of gifted students of pedagogical universities. The education of gifted students in the process of musical and academic creativity is the creation of favorable pedagogical conditions for the promotion of the self-education of a gifted personality in the process of musical and academic work in institutions of higher education.
