Dissertation for a candidate degree in pedagogical sciences (PhD): Specialty /Course code 13.00.04 – Theory and methodology of vocational education. – State Higher Educational Institution «University of Educational Management», National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2018. The research is focused on the problem of professional self-improvement of vocational educational institution leaders in the process of advanced training. The state of development of this problem in scientific resources has been analyzed and the content of the main definitions of the research was specified. Pedagogical conditions of professional self-improvement of the vocational educational institutions leaders in the process of advanced training were defined and theoretically substantiated, namely: the creation of educational environment as a factor of vocational educational institutions leaders professional self-improvement formation; the development of vocational educational institutions leaders readiness for professional self-improvement; focus of the educational process on professional development in general and of it separate structural components on the professional self-improvement of the vocational educational institutions leaders; orientation of the leaders of vocational educational institutions on motivating success in the process of professional self-improvement; pedagogical support of self-improvement processes, creation of a system of special methodological support of professional self-improvement of vocational educational institution leaders in the process of advanced training. The model of professional self-improvement of leaders of vocational educational institutions in the process of advanced training, which is considered as a system of interdependent structural components (target, content, activity, effective) in the interconnections and inseparable unity is theoretically substantiated and experimentally verified. The criteria of professional self-improvement of the vocational educational institutions leaders are developed and substantiated, namely: motivational-value; cognitive; operational-activity; reflexive; creative. An experimental work on the introduction of pedagogical conditions and the model of professional self-improvement of the leaders of institutions in the process of advanced training and the analysis of the obtained results according to the determined criteria have been carried out and showed the significant dynamics of the main characteristics of professional self-improvement of students. The results of the research can be used in the institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education during the course and inter-curricular periods, for organization of self-education activities of vocational educational institutions leaders.
