Osmachko O. Breeding for Resistance to Diseases of Bread Winter Wheat with the Involvement of Wheat-Rye Translocations

Thesis is aimed at solving very important scientific problem as for the finding the breeding value of varieties of different environmental and genetic origin, namely the genotypes with wheat-rye translocations (1AL/1RS і 1ВL/1RS) as for the resistance against leaf diseases. It was done through the defining new sources along with the natural infection background with the use of varieties-accumulators of infection and formation of selective material, determining the character of resistance inheritance in F1, the level of transgressions frequency, peculiarities of realization of genetic potential resistance against a group of diseases in F2, confirmation of positive transgressions in F3, and selection of the best plants. On the grounds of scientific findings we selected the best groups of transgressive plants which are resistant against leaf diseases and have a range of valuable economic features.
