Essay

The dissertation deals with study of the problem of the development of psychological stability of the state border guard units’ leaders of Ukraine. During the research, the hypothesis was tested and confirmed that the harmonious development of components of the psychological stability of the state border guard units’ leaders of Ukraine will ensure the success of behavioral actions and reactions that take place in the context of management activities. It was found that psychological stability is a mental state of a person capable of resisting the negative influence of external and internal factors of professional activity, regulating the level of its detection and making adequate management decisions in extreme conditions of official activity. The essence of the psychological stability of the state border guard units’ leader is a specific individual and professional orientation of the leader for the realization of his professional, moral and personal potential. The structure of the psychological stability of the state border guard units’ leaders contains such components: type of nervous system; level of intellect; volitional self-regulation of the emotional state; personality and professional properties and traits. The method of group expert assessments determined the determinants of the development of the psychological stability of the state border guard units’ leaders: high level of readiness of the leader to professional activity; functional ability of the leader to self-regulation of mental states. The model and program of the development of psychological stability of the state border guard units’ leaders is developed. It is proved that individual and group psychological correction allow to successfully solve the dual task – of increasing the psychological stability of military leaders, developing their professionally important properties and traits, expanding the psychological format of social activity within the boundaries of their professional status, and simultaneously achieving high competence in communication and situational self-regulation based on greater adequacy of self-esteem and a reduction in overall frustration. At the same time, the psychological stability of military leaders improves methods aimed at overcoming adaptation difficulties: socio-psychological trainings that develop psychotechnologies, as well as programs for psychological self-regulation.
