The thesis is the first to reveal the essence of the phenomenon of «functional competence of the future social worker from street social work», which is a qualitative characteristic based on a specialist’s professional knowledge, skills and professional qualities, which reflect the multifunctionality of his professional activities and ensure efficient performance functional public duties in the area of responsibility. The structure of the functional competence of the future social worker from street social work forms technological, interactive, interdisciplinary competences, as well as the competence of success. Thus, technological competence implies knowledge of social work as a professional activity, the essence and specificity of street social work and its clients, functions of street social work; observance of moral norms, ethics, legal framework of social work; owning its technologies and methods. Interactive competence is determined by the need to establish contacts and exchange information with clients of street social work, colleagues, interdisciplinary groups, and authorities; act in the absence of agreement, coordinate goals and objectives, constructively resolve conflicts; conduct advertising and propaganda activities, etc. Interdisciplinary competence implies knowledge of modern theories of related sciences to address the problems of street social work clients in particular, as well as social, pedagogical, and ethical issues of society in general. Competence of success is expressed in the mood of a social worker for continuous self-development, analysis of the achievements of other professionals and the application of best practices of domestic and foreign social work, planning their professional development and self-control in professional activities. The criteria for the development of the functional competence of future social workers from street social work were chosen: «awareness – unawareness of knowledge», «flexibility – rigidity of skills» and «stability – instability of the manifestation of qualities». Indicators of the criterion «awareness – unawareness of knowledge» in the study were informality, personal significance, efficiency, efficiency of knowledge, transfer of knowledge, etc.; indicators of the criterion «flexibility – rigidity of skills» – the ability to adapt to the situation, as well as compliance with the skills of the rules of official duties; Indicators of the criterion «stability – instability of the manifestation of qualities» – the stability of manifestation and activation of personal and professional qualities. On the basis of certain criteria and indicators, the levels of the formation of functional competence of future social workers from street social work (low, average, sufficient) are characterized, the method of their diagnostics is developed. Pedagogical conditions for the formation of functional competence of future social workers from street social work in the research were: facilitation accompaniment of students’ professional training for street social work; organization of professional training of students for street social work on the basis of interaction; acquiring practical experience of street social work; motivating students to carry out street social work on an ethical basis. The structural and functional model of forming the functional competence of future social workers from street social work reflects: the purpose of experimental and experimental work; stages of its implementation; pedagogical conditions for the formation of functional competence of future social workers from street social work; forms and methods of training; the structure of the investigated competence; criterion device research, as well as the expected result. Pedagogical conditions and a structural and functional model for forming the functional competence of future social workers from street social work were tested through the special course «Street Social Work: Theory and Practice». The suggested and implemented pedagogical conditions contributed to the formation of functional competence of future social workers from street social work in the process of their professional training, as evidenced by the results of incoming and outgoing diagnosis. The statistical processing of the quantitative results obtained from the diagnosis of the formation levels of the functional competence of future social workers from street social work has proved the statistical significance of positive changes in its formation.
