Glikman S. The forming of future navigators’ professional skills in the process of professional training

The object of the study is a professional training of future navigators in higher marine educational institutions; the research purpose is to theoretically ground, elaborate and experimentally test the craft formation pattern for future navigators in the process of professional training; The research methods used in the study are: an analysis of scientific, pedagogical, psychological and methodical literature, modeling, questionnaire, testing, observation of cadets' educational activity, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; the novelty is in that: the theoretically grounded, developed and experimentally tested model of craft formation of future navigators in the process of professional training, which consists of the target, theoretical and methodological, content-procedural and evaluative-result blocks, that function due to a number of organizational and pedagogical conditions: providing with positive motivation of future navigators in forming of professional skills in the process of studying the disciplines relating to vocational and practical cycle; orientation of the contents of vocational and practical courses toward the formation of professional skills of future navigators; ensuring of active working-off of professional situations in the process of studying of vocational and practical disciplines; the professional skills structure of future navigators is determined and specified; it consists of hierarchically subordinate substructures (external and internal); a more precise definition to the concept «professional skills of future navigators » is given; criteria and indexes of the professional qualities formation of future navigators; the content of the future navigators training, in particular its professional component, has been improved.
