The purpose is a theoretical substantiation and an empirical study of psychological peculiarities of musicians-professionals and amateurs. The object of theoretical and empirical analysis is the psychological features of the creative person, and the subject - the psychological features of musicians (professionals, amateurs). To achieve the goal and solve the problems, the following methods of research: theoretical (theoretical and methodological analysis, the method of comparative analysis and generalization of scientific data and theoretical approaches used to reveal theoretical and methodological foundations of the influence of musical activity on the structure of the personality of musicians (professional The scientific novelty of the obtained results is that: for the first time: the peculiarities of the personality of musicians were studied using the model "professional" -amator "in the comparative-age aspect, a comprehensive empirical study of the personality of musicians-amateurs on the level of stable dispositional, dynamic features, features of the course of mental states and psychological good oluchchya etc. Translation, adaptation to Ukrainian-language culture and testing in the empirical research of the survey "Short scale of the state of the flow measurement" (F. Rayberg, R. Uollmer); improved: the theoretical basis for the study of the personal qualities of musicians-professionals and amateurs, which determine their interest in musical activity and the choice of music as a profession, or as an admiration; scientific approaches to the research of a creative person, in particular, the personality of a musician (a professional / amateur); methodological foundations of personality research, psychological well-being, specific emotional state of "flow", creativity, specificity of psychological protection and sense of humor in the psychology of creativity; got further development: modern scientific approaches to the study of the dependence of the personal specificity of a musician-professional on instrumental specialization (musicians of string, piano, folk divisions, singers, etc.), age and experience of professional musicians; representations about the specificity of research of the creative person who have been improved on the basis of scientific research methods and innovative methods of scientific analysis; ideas about the humanizing influence of musical activity on the level of psychological well-being and psychological health of individuals - both professionals and amateurs. The practical significance of the dissertation research is the possibility of using its results in psychoprophylaxis and psycho-correction work with representatives of the profession of musician in the direction of psychoprophylaxis and psycho-hygiene of their work. The results of the dissertation research can be used in psychological work with students and teachers of musical educational institutions, as well as musicians-professionals, with the aim of improving their psychological health and well-being and preventing the emergence of states of mental disadaptation.
