Bozhenko A. Forming of Urban Way of Life in the Second Half of the Nineteenth to the Early Twentieth Century (on the example of Kharkiv)

The object of the research: forming of urban way of life of Kharkiv in the Second Half of the Nineteenth to the Early Twentieth Century. The purpose of the research: to investigate the formation of the urban way of life in the Russian Empire in the second half of the nineteenth to the early twentieth century on the example of Kharkiv. The methods: statistical, mapping, content analysis, methods of analysis and synthesis. Scientific novelty – for the first time: interaction of industrial objects and physical space of Kharkiv was investigated; the aggregate dynamics of communal infrastructure development in Kharkiv with the help of comparative analysis of the development of the city and the development of other provincial cities of the European part of Russia was traced; the spatial development of social infrastructure is considered; social structure of the central and peripheral parts of the city is compared. Practical value of research: the dissertation materials can be used in general courses on the history of Ukraine, in special courses on historical urbanistics, social history of the Russian Empire, the history of everyday life; in the preparation of scientific manuals, etc. Sphere of use: higher educational institutions.
