Nikolaichuk D. Kyiv provincial administration (the sixties ofthe 19th century - 1917): authorities, structure, staff composition.

This dissertation presents research of functioning of Kyiv provincial administration on the basis of handling archive materials and multiple published and unpublished sources. The basic stages of development of administrative institutes of Kyiv province (Kyiv governor, Kyiv provincial government, the administrative support office of Kyiv governor), change of their official authorities in compliance to internal political situation of the state were determined. On the basis of the complex of archive materials it is established that the provincial government became one of key administrative establishments of this part of the state and executed administrative, control and executive function together with a governor, being the main collegial body of imperial power, which decided the basic questions of life within the territory. It is established that an administrative support office of Kyiv civil governor became an effective executive body in the system of governance of Kyiv province and carried out organizational and co-ordination functions, providing efficiency of exercising of the authorities by a civil governor. It is established, that the special subdivisions were operating and being under direct submission of Kyiv provincial administration for the increase of the level of management of a province, including as follows: commissions, committees, attendance, the chiefs and the members of which were top-ranking officers of province, such as a governor, a vice-governor.
