Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the attempt to carry out a socio-philosophical analysis of the phenomenon of religion in the theory of Erich Fromm. The author analyzes the anthropological dimension of the religious studies concept of E. Fromm, analyzes the psychoanalytical principles of the Frommic religious studies concept, and examines the main types of religious orientation in the context of his concept of religion. In the context of the study of the potential of the religious concept of E. Fromm in resolving the contradictions of civilizational development, the religious dimension of contemporary globalization challenges in the conceptual apparatus of humanistic psychoanalysis E. Fromm was analyzed, as well as an analysis of the problem of the alienation of man using the approaches of the Frommic religious concepts. The provisions of the Fromm theory demonstrate the proximity to the theory of multiculturalism, according to which the contradictions of the religious nature in the processes of civilization advancement of mankind are solved. The question of the relationship "religion - globalization" in the modern civilization context in the dissertation study is revealed through a variety of approaches in understanding the essence of globalization and the breadth of the determinants of religion in the process of globalization, which allows positioning religion as an independent and sufficient subject of civilization development, displaying the format of its understanding of the limits of theistic and institutionality. Author managed to demonstrate that E. Fromm already in the twentieth century generates the concept of modern religion relevant to the modern processes of globalization. The philosophy offered by the philosopher does not lose its relevance at the age of globalization and can serve as an instrument for ensuring the further substitution of the religious worldview by universal consumer orientations. Religion in its universal sense, open to humanistic in its content, should appear in the twenty-first century. a translator of humanistic ethics and harmonize the complex processes of civilization development, opposing the tendencies of replacing religious values with the new "idols" of consumerism. Within the framework of elaboration of the problem of solving the contradictions of the development of Ukrainian society in the light of the concept of religion, E. Fromm, the actual problems of religious identity and identity of contemporary Ukrainian society in the context of the Fromm philosophy of religion were investigated. Also, the hermeneutic and heuristic potential of the philosophy of religion E. Fromm in the study of the dialectic of sacred and civic religion in contemporary Ukraine was analyzed. These research steps have been carried out taking into account the current socio-cultural situation in Ukraine, in particular, taking into account its post-colonial nature and the problems associated with restoring the religious identity of Ukrainians, minimizing the possibilities of using religion in order to complicate the processes of consolidation of society. The implementation of the post-colonial strategy of state formation, the formation of civil society, nation-building processes, and personal axiological orientations acquire a certain content and methodological expediency in the conceptual analysis of the Foreman doctrine. Effective at the present stage of development of Ukrainian statehood and religious identification is the understanding of E. Fromm's identification processes as a reflection of belonging to social structures, since the content of religious identity essentially determines the nature of social transformation ranging from authoritarian to civil society.
