Hula S. The functioning of the Soviet state security bodies in Podillia during (1928-1938).

The dissertation focuses on the functioning of the Soviet state security bodies in Podillia. The investigation is based onprocessing and studying of a considerable mass of archival materials and published sources. The scientific novelty of the dissertation is due to the content and set of tasks and methods of their implementation. For the first time, the territorial and staff structure of the DPU-NKVD bodies in Podillia was comprehensively disclosed, staffing of punitive structures was analyzed and a generalized social and psychological portrait of сhekist was created. The relationship between the сhekist structures and the Soviet party bodies in the Podillia region management system was analyzed, which allowed revealing the problem of using the potential of Soviet secret services in the realization of Stalin's policy on the periphery. The whole massive of unknown archival documents was introduced to the scientific circle, which opens further perspectives of scientific research in this direction.
