Essay

The philosophical conceptualization of the social potential of knowledge in the vector of sustainable development of society is carried out. The studies of knowledge as a social phenomenon in its philosophical dimensions in the context of searching for strategies of the development of modern society are more often built as a departure from the special-scientific theoretical and methodological foundations most often in the sphere of epistemological problems. In the modern research space of social philosophy and philosophy of the history of knowledge research, the study of knowledge and cognition is almost not presented. It is the socio-philosophical theoretical and methodological level of research that enables to reveal the social potential of knowledge and ensure its usage, to turn it into a real sustainable development of society. Actualization of social potential is initially directed from social relations to their transformation into categories in their logical terms with the help of concepts. Later it goes in the opposite direction – from categorical thinking, from theoretical consciousness to the introduction of knowledge and its social embodiment. Consequently, from these oppositely directed movements from social life to its special expression and in the further reverse return to reality in the process of social transformation, a complete social cycle of production, storage, exchange, processing and introduction of knowledge is formed. Knowledge comes from a social basis and then returns to it again for the conscious and controlled transformation and development. The processes of production, reproduction, growth and functioning of intellectual potential depend on the assimilation of the methods of theoretical thinking at the category level, and also on the basis of innovative development. But this connection is extremely important to intensify to ensure the sustainable social development.
