Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to the revealing of the peculiarities of remodeling of the vessels and skeletal muscles of the hind limbs of rats by compressive occlusion of the femoral artery, performed by arterial tourniquet application, and its following decompression. Peculiarities of the structural-spatial reorganization of the arteries in femoral, popliteal and tibial regions of the hind limbs of the rats, dynamics of morphometric changes of blood vessels and skeletal muscles by acute ischemia-reperfusion have been established. It has been experimentally proved that reperfusion changes in the tissues develop already on the 1st hour of reperfusion, reach maximum expression on the 1st day and gradually return to norm on the 14th day. The morphological criteria for arterial remodeling includes the restructuring of their walls, which is characterized by narrowing of the lumen with hypertrophy of all membranes of small arteries and dilation of large vessels. Remodeling of skeletal muscles was characterised by disorganization of structural components of myosymplasts, myocytolysis, destructive changes in mitochondria, phagosome activation and pyknosis of nuclei. Via neural network clustering, the regularities of combined changes in a number of biochemical and morphometric indices have been revealed; the prognostic criteria of ischemic-reperfusion syndrome severity have been formulated.
