Essay

The thesis gives scientific substantiation of a three-stage process of teaching staff training within the system of higher education in Ireland, its contents and the possibilityof creative implementing the Irish progressive experience into the pedagogical education of Ukraine. Theoretical background of the problem of teaching staff professional training has been analysed. The basic research concepts have been specified. Socio-political, socio-economic, historical and pedagogical aspects of the Irish teacher education formation and development have been defined, its legal and regulatory framework has been considered. Socio-political aspects include the actions of the United Kingdom central authorities and the Church; socio-economic ? progressive development of the country’s economy, growing need for qualified staff, national and secondary education systems foundation, insignificant funding of the Irish education and a low status of a pedagogical profession in the Irish society; as for historical and pedagogical aspects the most prominent are the educational heritage of the United Kingdom, historical events, that took place onthe eve of Ireland’s independence, having created difficulties for building up the units of the teacher professional training system.
