The object of the study is future ecology specialists' professional training; the subject of the research is information and communication technologies as a means of the future ecologists' research competence formation; the purpose of the research is to determine, theoretically substantiate and experimentally test the effectiveness of the method of future ecologists' research competence formation by means of information and communication technologies; research methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison, deduction, induction, abstraction, modeling, generalization and systematization, pedagogical observation, questioning (questionnaire, testing, conversation), expert evaluation, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; scientific novelty: the model of future ecologists' research competence formation by means of information and communication technologies has been substantiated; the methodology of future ecologists' research competence formation by means of information and communication technologies has been developed and tested.
