Dobriian D. Artistic, pedagogical and public activity of Olexandr Murashko (1875–1919)

The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of life and work of the famous Ukrainian artist, educator and public figure Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Murashko (1875-1919). The study of his artistic, pedagogical and social activities still has no holistic nature, and also there is no independent comprehensive historical research. The general feature of all the works published in the past years is the emphasis on his artistic activities, on the analysis of the paintings, his manner and working technique. Deep understanding of the heritage of O. Murashko allowed the scientists to characterize him as an artist, which enters into the context of the contemporary art, while the public work of the artist and his pedagogical activities were hardly noticed by researchers. Proved, that within the period from 1909 to 1912 O. Murashko, a teaching professor at Kyiv Art College, was actively engaged in the exhibition activity and public work. For example, he participated in the edition of the art magazine “Art: painting, drawing, art print”, which was published for the period of six years.
