It is found out that the process of estate park building in Podillia region, the prosperity of which is observed in the chronological boundary of the XVIII – beginning of the XX centuries mentioned in the dissertation, has beenstudied in view of the sociopolitical time of the research. The source base of the period of parks functioning, as recreations of gentry’s residences, is mainly judicial and accounting documentation, censuses and official reports. To particularly valuable sources belong documented in the form of memoirs, drawings and photographs of eyewitness accounts such as N. Orda and A. Pshezdetskyi.During the change of formations, park art, having lost its weight in social-artistic sense, and in the absence of motivation for conservation, falls out of sight of the general public of researchers. Some manifestations of interest, in particular, of large-scale research of O. Lypa in the 1950-s and 1960-s, eventually contributed to the emergence of significant amount of studies on the history and theory of the development of park art, the most striking of which are the works of D. Likhachov, V. Hostev, N. Yuskevych, D. Verhunov, N. Horokhov.Since the independence of the Ukrainian state, the interest to Ukrainian park building has become more active. Estate complexes became the object of research of a number of domestic and foreign specialists. R. Aftanazy conducted the thorough analysis of the functioning of Polish residences on the lands of modern Ukraine. Thanks to his works, many aspects of the development of estate complexes in the territory of Western Ukraine by L. Kazimirova,D.Kostiuk, D.Malakov, O.Mykhailyshyn,O.Pazhymskyi and others have been explored. At the same time, a number of important issues remained unclear about the processes of building park composition in the announced geographical and time limits, which required additional research. All mentioned sources are quite representative and contribute to the objective study of the art of creating parks and their impact on the cultural life of Podillia region of the XVIII– beginning of the XX century.
