In the dissertation, on the basis of archival, little known and published sources in the historical-pedagogical context, a complex and systematic analysis of pedagogical-methodological work of N. Voloshyna (1940–2010) has been made. The state of the research of this personality as a teacher, scientist and methodologist has been analysed.
The leading pedagogical and general-didactic ideas of the scientist concerning the formation of ideological values of pupils; educational, creative-research and upbringing possibilities of the literary education for the formation of a comprehensively developed personality of a pupil have been generalized and substantiated. The description of views of N. Voloshyna on the problem of spiritual-moral, aesthetic and national-patriotic education of the personality has been given. The urgency of the leading scientific-pedagogical ideas of the scientist in the context of the modern tasks of educational activity has been grounded. The description of the ideas of the scholar regarding the formation of the content of education in the context of tasks of the modern Ukrainian school has been given. The pedagogical potential of the scientific researches of N. Voloshyna in the direction of personality-oriented education has been determined. The views of the scientist on the competence approach in formation of the content of education have been singled out. The views of the scholar on the formation of the content of education on the basis of humanization, democratization, individualization have been revealed. The approaches to the formation of the educational autonomy of pupils have been studied. The author analysed pedagogical heritage of the scientist regarding the development of the creative potential of pupils.
The knowledge about the content and the main directions of educational, pedagogical and scientific-methodological activity of the scientist has been further developed. The views of N. Voloshyna on the introduction of progressive scientific-methodical experience into the educational process of the future preparation of teachers of the institutions of general secondary education and the teachers of the higher education institutions in Ukraine have been investigated.
The documentary materials of the personal file of N. Voloshyna, as well as the materials from the home archive of the scientist have been studied. Biographical information about N. Voloshyna, the information about her pedagogical, scientific and methodical activity before and during the work at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has been added and expanded.
84 new archival documents from the personal file of N. Voloshyna of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine have been introduced into the scientific circulation. It has been found out that the documentary materials analyzed in the scientific work give the opportunity to deepen the information about the scientific-pedagogical, methodological and organizational-managerial activity of N. Voloshyna.
General methodological ideas of historical-pedagogical researches, in part of the study of pedagogical personalities and the development of pedagogical thought in Ukraine, have been completed.
It is determined that collected scientific and pedagogical materials can serve as the source for teaching the courses «Pedagogy», «History of Pedagogy», «Theory and Methodology of Education», «Methodology of Teaching Ukrainian Literature», «Literary Studies», «History of Literature». They are also useful for creation of normative, elective, optional special courses and special seminars for the students of higher educational institutions on the Methodology of Teaching Pedagogy in Primary and Secondary Schools, in the system of postgraduate education, in the work of scientific circles and faculties in the institutions of higher education, during the practical introduction of a number of concrete ideas for improving the content of professional-pedagogical training, in particular, strengthening the practical-oriented methodological component of teacher training. It is noted that the theoretical materials can be used for writing of the research works of students, for the course papers, diploma projects of students in the aspect of further historical-pedagogical researches. It is ascertained that collected systematized knowledge will be useful in compiling the content of the modern textbooks and methodical manuals on pedagogy, history of pedagogy, methodology of literature.
