The research presents the results of a theoretical and experimental study of the formation of the readiness by a future teacher of basic-level art schools for the use of tools of art pedagogy in professional activity: the subject matter and components of the phenomenon of «the readiness by a future teacher of basic-level art schools for the use of tools of art pedagogy in professional activity» is scientifically substantiated; pedagogical conditions have been found, theoretically substantiated and experimentally verified, the model and methodological provision of the training of the future teacher of basic-level art schools for the use of tools of art pedagogy that contribute to the formation of the readiness by the future teacher of basic-level art schools for the use of tools of art pedagogy in professional activity is developed and tested; the essence of the main definitions is specified («art pedagogy», «art therapy», «means of pedagogy»); the components (theoretical, practical, motivational, personal), criteria (value-based orientation, emotionally reflexive, cognitively substantive, practically pragmatist), signs and levels of the readiness by future teachers of basic-level art schools for the use of tools of art pedagogy in professional activities have been substantiated.
