Essay

The study deals with a new approach how to solve the urgent problem of the formation of the four-year-old child’s positive attitude towards the institution of preschool education. The essence of the concept of “positive attitude of children in the fourth year of life to the institution of preschool education” is defined as a stable positive emotional orientation manifested in child’s accepting the routines and rules of life of the group, in child’s desire to establish a good relationship with the environment as well as to show an active position in development of different types of children’s activities. The psychological mechanisms of the formation of positive attitude in children in the fourth year of life towards the institution of preschool education are characterized; the meaningful structure of attitude in children in the fourth year of life towards the institution of preschool education (cognitive, emotional, behavioral components); criteria (cognitive, emotional and sensual, behavioral) together with relevant indexes and levels of attitude manifestation in children in the fourth year of life towards the institution of preschool education are defined. Understanding the results of theoretical analysis and practical experience of working with parents of potential young learners of the institution of preschool education has become the basis for defining and theoretical substantiation of the pedagogical conditions for mechanisms formation of the four-year-old child’s positive attitude towards the institution of preschool education as a factor of their successful adaptation at the stage of entering into a new social environment. The pedagogical conditions are the following: propaedeutic work with parents for their positive attitude towards interaction with the administration and pedagogical staff of the institution of preschool education (in the work of the association “Soft Family School”; gradual change in the forms and methods of interaction between teachers and parents aimed at forming the four-year-old child’s positive attitude towards the institution of preschool education (in the work of the consulting centre “Acting together”); providing psychological and pedagogical support for the process of adaptation of junior preschoolers to the institution of preschool education, which involves a consistent change in active communication, types of children’s activity and using daily routines.
