Object of research: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); the goal: to increase the efficiency of diagnosis of COPD by screening and functional examination of the contingent of people who consider themselves healthy; research methods - commonly accepted clinical, instrumental, functional, statistical; novelty - for the first time, a group of high-risk individuals with COPD was identified by screening questionnaires using the original questionnaire; it was found that the use of the original questionnaire makes it possible to diagnose COPD in 58% of high-risk individuals who considered themselves to be healthy; scientific data on quality of life indicators (QOL) of patients with COPD was supplemented; in patients with the first diagnosis of COPD, the parameters of URC are lower than that of persons without established disease; for the first time, a group psycho-correction work was conducted on forming the motivation for abandonment of smoking among people with established COPD, who smoked; it was found that the method of group psycho-correction is effective at 71%. The field of application is medicine.
