Essay

In the dissertation, with the involvement of the latest scientific developments, a wide range of sources and modern methodology, the process of development of the railway network of Ukraine in post-war time in all its aspects is reproduced and the possibilities of using the positive results of this experience are evaluated. The dissertation focuses on the problems of restoring railway transport in the first post-war decade, to the processes of modernization of railway infrastructure, to the problems of technical reconstruction of the railway industry, the processes of training and professional implementation of railway transport personnel. The material and everyday situation of railwaymen is investigated. An attempt was made to identify social losses in working with the labor resources of the railway industry. The author presents new information about the personnel potential of railway workers and the state of the social sphere (working conditions, housing for railway workers, their material standard of living and quality of social services) in the second half of the 20th century. There is an analysis of relationships between the pace of material and technical reconstruction of the industry, changes in the training of personnel of railway transport, as well as the development of social infrastructure for the material and everyday support of railway workers.
