Essay

The subject of the research work-is motivation to acyclic and cyclic sports activities; the goal of the research work-is to determine an essence of motivation to sports activities and to develop the methodology to form motivation of young athletes-swimmers at the early stage of preparation as well as to check the efficiency of motivation by experiment ; the methods: involve an analysis of the scientific and methodological literature; the experimental methods: include pedagogical experiment, questionnaires, psycho-diagnostic testing, and evaluation of developing physical qualities and swimming performance, as well as methods of mathematical statistics; there is a novelty of the research work- we have substantiated and checked by experiment an efficiency of the methodology to form an inner motivation of young athletes-swimmers to training and competition activities at the early stage of preparation. We have determined the peculiarities of age dynamics of motivation to acyclic and cyclic sports activities at the early stage of preparation. It is determined the five ranges of positive and negative categories, which essentially influence on motivation for training and competition activities in acyclic and cyclic activities; we have achieved the following results-we have developed the methodology of influence on motivation sphere of the young athletes-swimmers at the early stage of preparation. The research work results are applied in the study and training activity carried out by Youth Athletic Centers of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk (Young Athletic Centers No 2 of ‘Olymp’) and implemented in the academic activity conducted by the Department of Sport Pedagogical Disciplines of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the Department of Olympic Sports of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatyuk National Pedagogical University, and by the Department of Sporting and Mass Participation Events of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University; the industry – physical education and sports.
