Holik M. Epizootology and Oral Vaccine Prevention of Rabies in the Chernihiv Region

In the dissertation, on the basis of experimental researches, the results of the analysis of the epizootic situation from animal rabies in Ukraine and the spatial and temporal characteristics of the epizootic of rabies in the Chernihiv region are presented; the hominid animals population and oral immunization against rabies of homeless dogs were evaluated using of the recombinant vaccine «Brovarabis V-RG», short-term forecasting of the spread of rabies on the territory of Chernihiv oblast for 2017–2021 was made. Geographic information analysis of the epizootic of rabies in Chernihiv region for 2011–2016 revealed 18 spatial cluster clusters with a «hotspot» trend, which is statistically validated by the stationary-disadvantaged areas of rabies in the territory of the Chernihiv region. In addition, three clusters with the «new» trend in the last time step, located in the extreme south-east of the region, have been identified, indicating the spread of rabies in this direction. Conducted in a controlled experiment and field researches of oral immunization of dogs against rabies using the vaccine «Brovarabis V-RG» showed the principal possibility of using this method, which is promising in the introduction of an rabies antiepizootic measures as a separate measure, or in combination with parenteral vaccination of dogs against rabies.
