The subject of the research: theland-based road communications on the territory of Sloboda Ukraine in the eighteenth – early nineteenth centuries. The aim of the dissertation:comprehensively disclose the process of formation and establishment of land road communications in the territory of the historical and geographical region of Slobidska Ukraine in the eighteenth – early nineteenth centuries. Methods:cartographic retrospection, comparative, historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological, analysis, synthesis, description, generalization, classification, historical, logical. Scientific novelty:determined not only by the staging of the problem itself, which has not yet been the subject of special study but also by the fact that the example of a particular region examined in detail Ukrainian and foreign historiography on the history of road construction in the eighteenth – early nineteenth centuries and a representative source base was formed, including archival materials, a large part of which was first brought into scientific circulation;the basic regularities of formation of a network of land road communications by the settled population in Sloboda Ukraine in the first half of the eighteenth century;established the peculiarities of the deployment of the transport communications network in the territory of Slobozhanshchina on the background of best practices; on the basis of archival materials revealed the specifics of maintenance and repair of land road communications in the territory of Slobozhanshchina in the second half of the eighteenth century;characterized the specificity use of roads in Slobidska Ukraine in the eighteenth - early nineteenth centuries, in particular, the postal and trading functions of roads;specified: historical prerequisites for the emergence of road communications and outlined the peculiarities of the functioning of the Tatar Sakms in the territory of Slobozhanshchina in the eighteenth century;specifics of road construction in the Russian Empire and Western Europe in the eighteenth - early nineteenth centuries. The practical meaning of investigation: materials of the dissertation can be used in the preparation of scientific works, textbooks, programs and special courses on history of Ukraine, history of Sloboda Ukraine and other disciplines. Field of application: educational process.
