Essay

The research is devoted to coverage in the satirical-humorous magazine the Perets (the Peppers) of the everyday life of residents of Ukrainian in one of the stages of the Soviet period in history of this is country. It is determined that this edition served as a kind of “social mirror”, which reflected the main social and everyday trends. Feuilletons, paragraphers, cartoons, letters of readers, selected and systematized as the actual material, are made up in a versatile and diverse picture of the everyday life of the Ukrainian people in the conditions of the USSR. Their careful study, analysis, systematization and structuring allowed not only to obtain additional information on a topic related to the history of everyday life, but also to identify certain patterns in their development. The author worked out 480 issues of the Perets magazine for 1945–1965, selected, systematized and structured almost 1,700 publications related to the topic of everyday life. As a result of the work, two main parts were allocated, which became the basis of the dissertation: the Social Infrastructure and the Life and Leisure.
