Sekh M. Clinical and pharmaceutical substantiation of a quality improvement model for the pharmacotherapy of community-acquired pneumonia.

Objects – medical prescriptions, clinical guidelines, clinical recommendations and valid clinical protocols, instructions for medical use of medicines, drug-related problems (DRP) and their identification, relevant data of evidence medicine, modern proposals of medicines for pharmacotherapy of community-acquired pneumonia in Ukrainian pharmaceutical market, respondents' questionnaires; main purpose – clinical and pharmaceutical substantiations and development of improved model of quality pharmacotherapy of patients with community-acquired pneumonia; methods – system approach and system analysis, bibliosemantic, structural and logical, analysis of market, analytical, clinical and pharmaceutical analysis, clinical and pharmacological, statistical method, clinical and economic analysis, situational and sociological modeling; novelty –quality of pharmacotherapy of patients with community-acquired pneumonia was evaluated using methods of clinical and economic analysis of it’s inappropriate (incorrect and irrational) component and detection of drug-related problems; we analyzed the problem of providing oxygen to hospitals working with patients with community-acquired pneumonia; also in particular we carried out clinical and economic support of rational oxygen therapy of community-acquired pneumonia; clinical and pharmaceutical substantiations were developed to improve quality of pharmacotherapy of patients with community-acquired pneumonia. results – the model of improvement of quality of pharmacotherapy of patients with community-acquired pneumonia, "Improved leaflet of medicinal prescriptions" as an innovative component of the model of improvement of quality of pharmacotherapy, "Unified method of evaluation of pharmacotherapy on leaves of medicinal prescriptions", the original formula based on identified mildly related problems of pharmaceutical care developed for identification of an average need in medical oxygen for one patient with community-acquired pneumonia, improved system of rational pharmaceutical management of oxygen in healthcare facility; introduced into the clinic and diagnostic processes of healthcare institutions and into scientific processes of higher education institutions; branch - pharmacy.
