In the dissertation there was experimentally proved the possibility of obtaining induced mutants with marker and original traits in oil flax with the help of new chemical mutagens. It was established that new mutagens, DMS derivatives, DG-2, DG-6, DG-7, DG-9, and DMS and EMS at the concentrations of 0.5 and 0.05 % showed a significant influence on the manifestation of many morphological characteristics of flax plants in the M1 generation. It was shown that the spectrum of M2 derived morpho-physiological and biochemical mutations was quite broad and depended on the type and concentration of a mutagen. It was found that Iceberg variety was characterized by a narrower range of morpho-physiological changes (16 types), compared with Solnechny variety (22 types). Different colors of the petals of a number of mutant flax lines were analyzed with the use of instrumental technologies and their numerical characteristics were recorded in the channels of red, green and blue colors of the spectrum. That allowe to use this technology for the reliable identification of flax samples, differing in the color of the petals or other parts of the plant.
