The thesis is devoted to the study of professional training of border guard inspectors for identification of persons and vehicles in the conditions of European integration. Based on the results of the experimental work, it has been established that the readiness of border guard inspectors to identify persons and vehicles is a professionally important personal characteristic, which includes confidence in the state and personal importance of identification at checkpoints, knowledge of technology, methods and means of identification of persons and vehicles, personal qualities and skills necessary for proper implementation of identification at checkpoints. In the structure of readiness of border guard inspectors for identification of persons and vehicles it is possible to distinguish the value-personal, cognitive-learning and operational-action components. The readiness of border guard inspectors to identify persons and vehicles can be assessed on the basis of value, cognitive and action criteria and their corresponding indicators. The indicators of the value criterion are the recognition of the values of border guard service, loyalty to the border guard service; responsible attitude towards their professional activity and the implementation of identification; the level of personal qualities, in particular, thoroughness, organization, attentiveness, observation. The cognitive criterion is revealed by the following indicators: knowledge of border control and identification procedure, peculiarities of identification of persons and vehicles; awareness of the features of interviewing as part of passport control, ethical aspects of interviewing. The indicators of the action criterion are the ability to identify, while respecting the values of the border service; the ability to solve complex problems related to identification; orientation in the provisions of the legal and regulatory acts on border control and identification. The readiness of border guard inspectors to identify persons and vehicles can be expressed at low, medium and high levels. Formation of readiness to border guard officers to identify persons and vehicles will be effective if such pedagogical conditions are introduced in the course of professional training: introduction of information and communication technologies in the process of training border guard inspector to identify persons and vehicles; application of training methods to develop professionally important qualities necessary for the implementation of identification; training of border guard inspectors in professional communication with citizens during the control of the first and second lines at the state border crossing points; acquaintance of border guard officers with the European values of the border guard service and the identification implementation procedure. The structural-functional model, which is a schematic reproduction of the process of formation of readiness for identification of persons and vehicles, allows to organize the systematic work on the formation of readiness for identification of persons and vehicles in the process of professional training. The pedagogical conditions for the formation of readiness for identification of persons and vehicles to the inspectors of the Border Guard Service substantiated in the study are effective, which is confirmed by the results of the forming experiment. In order to form the readiness of border guard inspectors to identify persons and vehicles, recommendations to scientific and pedagogical staff developed on the basis of the research are of great importance. It is recommended to follow axiological, activity, systematic, personal-oriented approaches; to use information and communication technologies for the educational process and study of specific identification issues, in particular, computer training programs “Wiek”, “Trainer”, “FaceID”, etc.; to use training methods to develop the personal qualities of border guards; to organize training sessions for additional special training of border guard officers; to perform game modeling of educational, professional, life situations for document identification and interviewing; to pay special attention to such aspects as the values of border guard activities in professional communication, the value of the person, the interests of the case, the life position of the person, etc.
