The problem of preparation of future social workers for professional self-improvement by means of project activity is actualized in the dissertation. The conceptual apparatus of the problem of research of the professional self-improvement of the social worker in the theory and practice of education is defined. The essence of the phenomenon of the future social workers readiness for professional self-improvement is revealed. Willingness of future social workers for professional self-improvement attests to the awareness of future social workers with technologies and techniques of professional self-improvement and is characterized by the ability to design, organize and analyze the program of professional self-improvement. The content, forms, methods and means of project activity in the process of preparing future social workers for professional self-improvement are determined. It is found out that project activity involves involvement of students in purposeful activity for solving tasks with obligatory practical result, means of project activity are identified. The socio-pedagogical conditions for the effective preparation of future social workers for professional self-improvement through project activity are identified and tested. Structural and functional features, components, criteria, indicators and level of students' readiness for professional self-improvement are determined. A structural and functional model of the process of professional training of future social workers for professional self-improvement through project activity is presented. Structural and functional model reflects the system that defines goals and objectives, characterizes the process of preparing future social workers for professional self-improvement, revealing the components of professional self-improvement and reflecting the socio-pedagogical conditions, content and means of this process aimed at improving the motivation to improve motivation. professional activity, revealing the features and possibilities of using the project activity. The method of preparing students for professional self-improvement, consisting of three stages, was developed and experimentally tested. The effectiveness of the method of preparing future social workers for professional self-improvement with the help of project activity was experimentally tested.
