Essay

The thesis is the first research of the content of the postgraduate pedagogical education of Prydniprovia (1948–1985). In paper it has been conducted the historical and pedagogical analysis and proposed the solution of the problem of development of the content of the postgraduate pedagogical education of the Prydniprovia. On the basis of systematic, historiographic, regional, chronological approaches and system of scientific and pedagogical methods (terminological, historiographic, logical-systematic, problem-chronological method, historical-structural, historical-genetic, historical-systemic), three groups of sources (archival documents, regulations, interpretative sources of scientific and theoretical nature) are identified, their historical and pedagogical interpretation made it possible to analyze and generalize the experience of developing the content of postgraduate pedagogical education of Prydniprovia region (Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia region) in the political and economic, socio-cultural contexts in certain chronological limits for the reconstruction of integrity of content development of postgraduate education and taking into account the progressive ideas in the development of a modern system of postgraduate education in Ukraine. The scientific novelty of the obtained results of the study is: for the first time the subject of historical and pedagogical analysis became the process of development of the content of postgraduate pedagogical education of Prydniprovia as a result of which the theoretical and methodological foundations of the genesis of the content of postgraduate pedagogical education and the essence of the idea of continuous pedagogical education in historical retrospect were established; practical experience of the research problem is generalized; productive tendencies are represented and perspective directions of development of content of postgraduate pedagogical education of domestic institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education are defined. According to the criteria (political and economic, scientific and technical development of the state; public inquiry into the qualified specialists of the educational field; pedagogical concepts of the content of education and educational opportunities of institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education) three periods of development of the content of postgraduate pedagogical education in Prydniprovia have been identified: the first (the second half of the 1940s – the first half of the 50s of the 20th century) – restoration and searching – the period of reconstruction of the system of advanced training of teachers in the post-war era; the second (the second half of the 50's – 1964) – transformative – the period of formation of the content of advanced training of teachers in the perspective of educational reforms against the background of widespread industrialization and polytechnization of the content of general secondary education; the third (1965–1985) – restrictive-administrative – the period of curtailment of previous reforms, the development of the system of teacher training in accordance with the administratively defined priority tasks of socialist construction and in the times of “developed socialism”. The essence of the concept “the content of postgraduate pedagogical education” in the historical and pedagogical perspective from the point of view of its components (the content of education, postgraduate pedagogical education, etc.) has been clarified. Scientific knowledge on the work of advanced training institutes of teachers in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya regions during the second half of the 20 century has been expanded. Theoretical provisions on the content of postgraduate pedagogical education and factors influencing on its development in historical retrospect have been further developed. Little-known normative-legal documents and facts from the activity of institutes of advanced training of teachers of Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya regions of the second half of the twentieth century on the basis of research materials into scientific circulation have been introduced.
