Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the problem of increasing the level of development of future journalists' social-informational competence in higher educational insti-tutions in Iraq. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, the essence of future journalists' so-cial-informational competence has been defined. It is personal integrative for-mation that characterizes future journalists' ability to organize interaction with the society on the basis of information technologies in media space in compli-ance with ethical and legal norms. The structure of the studied competence has been determined. It includes motivational, cognitive, procedural and personal components. The conducted analysis of future journalists' professional training in higher ed-ucational institutions in Iraq has shown that the conditions for formation of so-cial-informational competence in them are insufficient. At the same time, the analysis of development strategies of these institutions (University of Anbar, University of Baghdad, Cihan University and Tikrit University) has revealed that the formation of a generation of media-professionals who have ideas, theo-retical and practical information for providing the media sector is the priority tasks of the activities of these institutions in the context of the conducted re-search. In order to solve this task, the technology of formation of future journalists' so-cial-informational competence in higher educational institutions in Iraq has been theoretically substantiated and developed. It is based on activation of stu-dents' educational activity in the conditions of author's dynamic educational website. In-depth analysis of primary sources has allowed to determine the stages of the technology of formation of future journalists' social-informational competence in higher educational institutions in Iraq. The preparatory-target stage of the technology includes the aim of implementation of it, methodological approach-es, principles of implementation of the technology, namely: general pedagogical principles and specific principles, functions of the technology. The content-forming stage of the technology is aimed at formation of the structural compo-nents of social-informational competence. The diagnostic-corrective stage of the technology focuses on determining the qualitative changes in development of future journalists' social-informational competence and carrying out the correc-tive actions in the developed technology on this basis (in case of need). The effectiveness of the proposed technology has been proven by its experi-mental testing.
